Drive Kathmandu to Dhap Bazzar (2,850M)
Highlights of the day: A drive from Kathmandu to Dhap Bazzar is one of the most scenic road journeys in eastern mid-hills Nepal. The road follows the Sunkoshi River, taking you through the diverse landscapes, hillside settlement and drop off to the entry point for Pikey Peak trek.
Trek Dhap Bazzar to Jhapre (2,815M)
Highlights of the day: The trek from Dhap to Sigane is gradual uphill climb followed by unpaved dusty road. You’ll follow the trail that run alongside rivers, pass through traditional Sherpa villages, diverse landscapes, lush green forests and beautiful valleys.
Trek Jhapre to Pikey Peak Base Camp (3,640M)
Highlights of the day: The trail provides an authentic glimpse into the unique culture, tradition, daily life of the local communities, beautiful rhododendron forests and the open ridges offers panoramic views in all directions.
Early hike to the summit of Pikey Peak (4,065M) and trek to Jasmane Bhanjyang (3,550M)
Highlights of the day: You’ll start early for the summit of Pikey Peak and the most significant highlights is the 360’ panorama of the Himalayan range, including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Kanchenjunga and other higher peaks. After soaking in views, descend along the southern ridge to Jasmane Bhanjyang.
Trek Jasmane Bhanjyang to Junbesi (2,700M)
Highlights of the day: The route is gradual descent through forests trail, scenic ridges with open meadows, up hills and crossing the Lamjura La Pass (3,530M) which offers alpine landscapes before descending toward Junbesi.
Hike to Thupten Choling Monastery and trek to Phaplu (2,413M)
Highlights of the day: A walk from Junbesi passes through pine forests, small villages with prayers flags and mani walls along the way. Thupten Choling Monastery is one of the largest monasteries in the Solu region which is the home to several hundred monks and nuns, practicing Tibetan Buddhism. Now, you’ll be leaving Junbesi, scenic valley trail with terraced fields and farmlands which pass through local Rai ethnic villages. Phaplu is a small beautiful town with the many comfortable teahouse lodges.
Drive Phaplu to Kathmandu (1,400M)
Highlights of the day: Drive to most common and scenic route which connects to the BP highway. It is one of the Nepal’s most beautiful mountain roads, following the Sunkoshi River.
