Drive Kathmandu to Pokhara – 822m
Highlights of the day: Scenic drive along the Prithvi Highway following the Trishuli and Marsyangdi rivers. Enjoy views of terraced fields, traditional villages, and the mid-hills of central Nepal. Evening walk along the tranquil Lakeside of Pokhara, with reflections of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) in Phewa Lake.
Drive Pokhara to Pritam Deurali (2,100m) & Trek to Rest Camp (2,500m)
Highlights of the day: Early morning drive through Kande and Australian Camp to Pritam Deurali, the official starting point of the Mardi Himal trek. The trail enters dense rhododendron forest filled with birds and orchids. Gradual ascent brings you to Rest Camp, surrounded by quiet forest and mountain glimpses.
Trek Rest Camp to Upper Badal Danda – 3,210m
Highlights of the day: The trail climbs steadily through mossy forests with occasional openings revealing Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre (6,993m). Reach Low Camp (2,970m) for tea and continue above the tree line to Upper Badal Danda, where the first full panorama of the Annapurna range appears.
Trek Upper Badal Danda to High Camp – 3,550m
Highlights of the day: A short, scenic walk along a narrow ridge with outstanding views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre. The air thins as rhododendrons give way to dwarf shrubs. High Camp offers a dramatic viewpoint with the mountains seemingly within reach.
Hike to Upper Viewpoint (4,200m) or Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m), Return to Upper Badal Danda – 3,210m
Highlights of the day: Early morning climb to Upper Viewpoint (4,200m) for sunrise over Annapurna I (8,091m), Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna, and Hiunchuli. For strong trekkers, continue to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m) for close-up views of the glacier and massif. Descend back to Upper Badal Danda for overnight.
Trek Upper Badal Danda to Lwang Village – 1,600m
Highlights of the day: Descend through rhododendron and oak forest to Siding Village, a peaceful Gurung settlement off the main tourist trail. Continue to Lwang Village, known for organic tea gardens and traditional homestays. Experience warm hospitality and authentic local life.
Drive Lwang Village to Pokhara – 822m
Highlights of the day: Morning walk around Lwang tea gardens. Drive back to Pokhara along a scenic mountain road. Afternoon free to relax, explore local cafés, or enjoy boating on Phewa Lake.
Free Day in Pokhara – 822m (Optional)
Highlights of the day: Optional sightseeing around Pokhara — visit Davis Falls, World Peace Pagoda, or Gupteshwor Cave. Perfect day to rest after your trek or celebrate your Himalayan experience.
Drive Pokhara to Kathmandu – 1,400m
Highlights of the day: Return journey along the scenic highway to Kathmandu. Enjoy final views of rivers, terraces, and mid-hills before arriving in the capital.
